Cookie policy

A short and honest account of what this site stores on your device. There is no advertising network here, no cross site tracking and no data broker.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Local storage does a similar job and stays on your device until it is cleared. This site uses both, sparingly.

What we actually use

Strictly necessary items, plus one analytics tool that only runs if you accept. Everything else is set on this domain, not by a third party.

NamePurposeLifetime
cp-cookie-consentRemembers whether you accepted or rejected non essential cookies so the notice does not reappearLocal storage, until you clear it
Session and securitySet by our hosting provider to deliver pages, balance traffic and protect the site from abuseSession, or a short rolling window
sidebar_stateRemembers the open or closed state of an interface panel where one is used7 days
_ga, _ga_*Google Analytics 4. Aggregate statistics only: which pages are read, how visitors arrive and which country they are in. Loaded only after you accept, never for advertisingUp to 2 years

What we do not use

  • No advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • No social media tracking pixels.
  • No cross site profiling, and no sale or sharing of behavioural data.

Embedded content, such as a video hosted elsewhere, may set its own cookies when you play it. Any such provider is listed here if and when we add one.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which research and case studies are read. It loads only after you accept in the cookie notice. If you reject, or ignore the notice, no analytics script is loaded at all and no analytics cookies are set. Google acts as our processor for this data.

Changing your choice

You can change your decision at any time. Rejecting keeps only the strictly necessary items above.

You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings. In Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox this sits under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking strictly necessary items may stop parts of the site working.
